Link's Inspiring women
In honor of Women’s History Month, Link is recognizing the incredible women who make our company exceptional.
Meet Rebecca Rawlings, Widows System Administrator here at Link Solutions, Inc.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN THE INDUSTRY, AND WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE THIS PATh?
I joined the AZ Air National Guard as a Cyber Transport Technician. I worked alongside the contractors within our office and decided I was interested in becoming a SME. I picked their brains every chance I got, and they are the reason I was able to grow into the skilled professional I am today.
What advice do you have for women starting their careers?
Project confidence but be humble. Find a mentor and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Step outside of your comfort zone when opportunities arise. Don’t give up, perseverance feels good!
What advice do you have for those that may be experiencing a setback?
Many times, discomfort leads to growth. Know your limitations but try to look for ways to improve your knowledge, experience, skills or understanding to help you move through the season. Try to have a positive outlook-find the silver lining or the lesson. Stay rational, it won’t last forever.
What inspires you?
My family. I have 3 kids (2 daughters, 1 son). I specifically want my girls to know that they can grow up and be strong, independent, productive women in the workforce, who can achieve whatever they set their minds to. If I ever have a day where I am lacking motivation, I think about my family and the example I am setting for them. This is exactly the type of example my mom set for me as I was growing up. She was the one who inspired me to join the cyber field.
